Introduction
Once an organisation or an individual has calculated their environmental footprint, they are then able to purchase carbon credits to offset those emissions.
Through this mechanism it is possible to achieve a level of carbon certification, such as Carbon Neutral or Carbon Free.
In this section we will explain how carbon trading works and introduce you to our various projects in Africa, which represent our primary source of carbon credits.
Carbon offsetting is the exciting part of the whole process, the bit where you get choose which projects and communities you are going to support. If you wish to get personally involved, this can be an intensely gratifying experience and if you are ever lucky enough to actually visit a project, then you can meet the lovely local people, hug your trees and snorkel with your corals.
For individuals we are presently directing all our customers to our tree-planting initiatives in the Karatu area of Tanzania, which represents the most cost-effective carbon offsetting solution.
For organisations we offer the option to choose from a range of projects. We are even able to develop specific projects for which you can be the sole supporter, a strategy can be very effective on the ground and very strong from a marketing perspective.
